Not gonna lie, when I heard about the Karate Kid remake I immediately thought-but...Jackie Chan is Chinese, and ...does Kung Fu? NEEDLESS TO SAY I was pretty damn skeptical about this movie, seeing it in general.

I WAS WRONG. /dramatic/

I saw the trailer for the movie and DAMN sorry it looks amazing to me. I'm really happy to be seeing Jackie Chan in it, especially after 'The Forbidden Kingdom' /shudder/. I desperately and unabashedly have a torrid love affair with Kung Fu and YES is all I can say. You know Jaden looks adorable, and no offense to the original Karate Kid [which was excellent btw] I feel like Jaden really looks amazing doing the Kung Fu.

I mean okay ...The Karate Kid? Why not the Kung Fu Kid? I was reading about it and supposedly here we get 'The Karate Kid' and in Asia they'll get 'The Kung Fu Kid'. Eh, I think it'll be great. Will Smith is producing, and it has Jackie Chan. I'm actually really really excited about it >D >D, and I'm glad that they know the difference between Kung Fu and Karate; and just excited in general that Kung Fu is getting some time! >D >D

Though I find it funny that I was a little iffy about Jackie Chan playing Mr. Miagi; whilst I was suprised {and a little shocked) that people were GENUINELY bothered by the fact that they chose Jaden who is Black. Apparently they only wanted another caucasian boy to take that roll. PFT, IN MY DEFENSE, I had reservations about Jackie Chan as Mr. Miagi because I was like um... Kung Fu =/= Karate, and Chinese Culture =/= Japanese Culture. But really? Not wanting the kid to be anything but Caucasian? What's the reasoning behind that? /rolls eyes @ this/

So this is all because of this topic in the FFXIII site. Tetsuya Nomura's April Fools Joke, and sorry guys really? I actually thought it was funny, but that's because I read the whole thing and didn't take that one sentence out of context.

NEEDLESS TO SAY, first of all people who know me know that I'm not a homophobe. I'm also not one of those people who get their panties in a twist over every little 'insult' done to them about 1. race; 2. sexual orientation; 3. gender. So here's the thing, does anyone else get insulted and tired of this? I support gay rights, I'm one of those people who things same sex marriages should be legal; but it is SO ANNOYING when everything is turned into a platform for people who are amazingly sensitive.

I should think that if you were perfectly confident over your sexuality you wouldn't be so sensitive about these little jokes, and laugh a little about it. I think that jokes like these at the core point to social phenomenons were I really do believe that society thinks its 'edgy' to have a homosexual lead- at least Western society because it's SO cool to be liberal now. Or that in fandoms, people have started turning everyone and their mother homosexual. I have no issue with it, I like pairings all over the rainbow, but I think its SAD to like a character because of their sexual orientation, or change a character's orientation to fit your fangirl {or fanboy} dreams. NOT TO MENTION, a lot of the times I think the people who create a fuss give everyone else a bad rep.

THOUGH on another note, Antique Bakery is FANTASTIC if you're into shounen ai, AND EVEN IF YOU AREN'T. It really is a wonderful manga, though I've never found a good shoujo ai :[, as they usually are all fanservice :/. Anyone know any good ones?

Oh wait no I figured out why a lot of the reaction has got me more annoyed then the actual article. I ...kinda think it's insulting to people who really are homosexual. I respect those who are and are mature about it, but people who are outrageous about it, and turn it into fanservice...I kinda find that insulting :/.

So.... I've been catching up on my ABDC which I'd forgotten how much I sincerely ADORE.

There's all this trash talking as always, but I'm going to say right here right now, I super love Poreotix! I think they're hilarious, entertaining, and just plain FUN. Oh yeah they can dance to /wiggles eyebrows/.

I've been lol'ing though since there's a Canadian crew in the show, and people are blaming the fact that American's just refuse to vote for a Canadian crew . IDK I always thought it was because you voted for the crew you liked best >___>. Hey if it was really about they're dancing ability they could actually join a real competition :[ not a reality tv show.

I've been laughing though because a lot of people are arguing that Canadian's are technically American, as are people from South America, because APPARENTLY this continent is NORTH AMERICA therefore Canadian's are American's [and so have a right to be on the show]. ANYWAY... does ...this ...strike anybody else as faulty logic? D: ...not just because this continent is the America's -3-.

Apparently the show should have been the United State's of America's best Dance Crew, or the continent of America's best dance crew. AND NO, JUST BECAUSE THEY are on the continent doesn't make them American =3= at least not in this context, roflmao. IDK something about the logic there is kinda off putting, and I'll eventually have more solid reasoning as to why that logic bothers me. I honestly didn't realize it was an issue until this season D:, though does that mean we should add a Canadian region to the show? Because the Canadian crew was put into the East region section :/, I find that more derogatory really -3-.

On a lol'ier note, Hetalia made me laugh at the situation in general, and the horrifying knowledge that some people might really think Canada is a state of the USA might really be a possibility D:. /horrified/

So, I know, it's like I've fallen off the face of the Earth, but ALAS I AM HERE.

I've been super super busy lately, spring cleaning of course! Thankfully I'm 3/4's of the way done with that lovely JEWEL of a bright idea! I've just got loads of laundry to do, which really isn't that bad though I feel like I should be composing an ode to the mountains of it.

ANYWAY otherwise I've been playing Final Fantasy XIII like a mad woman, taking frequent and MUCH NEEDED breaks. Damn I'm never sure if I like this game, though usually my opinion of it is 3/4's sheer hate, 1/8 'damn it it's a final fantasy', 1/8 'i will beat this game if it kills me'. I've never played a FF with SO MANY annoying characters in my life before, can't say much or it'd be spoilers but I was so sad Hope didn't get his ultimate goal :[. I hate pretty much all the characters, damn so annoying and am DESPERATELY HOPING there will be a japanese language pack I can use soon. PSH HAHAHAH SO FUNNY LETS GET A VA FOR VANILLE WHO ISN'T BRITISH. Worst British Accent I've ever heard. EVER. Which sucks because it totally ruins her character, no matter how grave and IDK sad a thing she's saying all I can think is 'horrible british accent, horrible british accent, i'm supposed to believe this accent?, horrible british accent, x10 on repeat'.

LOVE Lightning though, seriously LOVE LIGHTNING. THANK GOD THERE'S A STRONG FEMALE VG character FOR ONCE, and not just STRONG but one that doesn't have to flash her boobs to the world, or wear skanky clothes. SO OVER that VG stereotype. ANYWAY so yeah FFXIII has been a SUPER let down, UGH it's so annoying to be forced to play with characters in my party that I can't stand. Not gonna lie in old FF's i'd let them die and they'd stay dead, jk jk, I just never had them in my party. UNLIKE IN XIII.

SERIOUSLY the characters are super annoying, ESPECIALLY SNOW. ARGH. Everything about Snow makes me want to projectile vomit. SO I GUESS my personal character breakdown would be from favorite to least favorite would be:

Lightning (though I did like her more before she suddenly out of nowhere got feelings, T__T I woulda been fine hating on Snow for the rest of the game), Fang, Hope (only because I was really disappointed because he failed at his goal in Palumpolum), Sazh - Vanille are tied, and then SNOW. BUT, let's say the first few are on a ladder each step down, Snow would be 100 trillion times steps down, into the earth's core or something.

It makes me wonder if the game is like this in Japanese, :[ because seriously MAJOR letdown. MAJOR MAJOR letdown. Hopefully it gets better.

SO!!!

I've been busy lately, finally finished the nightmare that was last week what with grades looming over my head, but all's well that ends well. I don't have to worry about my long review in lit anymore, and i finished the midterm in Hist, so for now I can breathe a sigh of relief! Let's see, I'm feeling liberated lately! Some things had been weighing heavy on my shoulders, and after thinking long and hard I decided to cauterize the wounds!

I have moved onto some other things though! BTW went to Costco for the first time in like AGES, and HOLY BAJEEZUS i love costco and samples!!! I was once hungry and then I was not, and it was AMAZING. ANYWAY I've gotten back into writing, finishing up some old fanfics that I'd started /fingers crossed/; hopefully that'll eventually get done!

Not that my other fun fun isn't addicting either!!! I've gotten back into WoW and my poor neglected characters! My hunter's almost 80 though! So I'm glad, but been pvping and will get my poor priest up! She used to be so gorgeous but now I guess the grind is back! BTW Shoki, i still think we need to DUEL >D.
